ELKHART — NeXus RV announced it will begin distributing through a dealer network beginning next month and the purchase of a new inspection facility.
The motorhome manufacturer based in Elkhart announced it would close its five factory-owned dealerships and begin distributing through a network of around 50 dealerships in September, according to a press release.
The Elkhart factory sales and service department will continue to operate but shift to dealer sales instead of consumer sales, said NeXus RV marketing manager Theresa Etes.
Decisions about what will happen to the workforce at the other company-operated dealers is undecided at this time, Etes said.
NeXus was founded in 2010 by Claude Donati and Dave Middleton and makes a range of motorhomes ranging accross classes C, B and A. They currently have six product lines, according to Etes.
