Precision Medical expands into Wabash County

Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly

Orthopedics implant and instrument manufacturer Precision Medical Technologies will expand its operations into Wabash County and create as many as 60 new jobs by 2022.

The company already has facilities in Kosciusko and Noble counties. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. announced today that Precision will invest about $5 million to purchase and renovate a 9,000-square-foot facility at 400 Beckley St. in North Manchester.

The site will house CNC machinery and related equipment to support the company’s new operations for disposable surgical instruments. The company’s current manufacturing implants and reusable instruments operations, which together employ 140 people in Warsaw and Rome City will continue.

The new facility is expected to be fully operational at the beginning of 2018. It will also begin hiring workers to fill positions at the plant after the new year.

The IEDC offered Precision up to $430,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $45,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. The town of North Manchester is expected to consider additional incentives.
